This Coming Week

So i have to say i am a little bummed we aren't going to be doing any singing for another week.
But this is the technical part,
we have characters to be found,
connections to be made.
I think what we are doing right now is going to be well worth it when opening night comes.
no matter how much it sucks not to be able to sing all the melodies running through my brain.

So...
lets talk about this $10
although i could dig through my closet and pick out $10 worth of my own clothes purchased through thrift shopping, i still feel driven to take on this adventure.
its not about playing homeless, its about being able to relate.
when you break life down to necessities,
things get small.
while digging through Jesse's travel trunk with another cast mate
i realized just how small.
we talk about how Jesse scored finding an Old Navy top.
seems ridiculous to people who don't HAVE to think like that.
but to some one who doesn't have anything, they don't even see a name.
they probably think "Cool Shirt."

I am humbled to be a part of this show with all of you.
just at the read through tonight i almost shed a couple tears.
through hard work, and a little soul searching i think what we will have is something beautiful.

Well That Was Interesting....

I should have figured something wasn’t quite right when they said we were coming to upstage for our first practice.

I could never have imagined the post-disaster zone that we walked into.

but talking to Jesse, after we conquered the beast of a task at hand, i understood completely on why this was the spot for This shows rehearsal.

We had to clean it.
We had to do it together.
We had to do it as a community.
What better place to humble ourselves at.
What better place than in the rustic upper building space that has long been deceased in downtown Danville.
The windows won’t be dark anymore.

I am so excited to be a part of this community,
I have the highest hopes for this show.
This has to be, hands down, one of the most well put together casts i have seen.
Congrats to everyone sharing in this experience, and fabulous job to the director and production team on the start to a beautiful showing of Rent.
